VéloLéger is a company created in 2021 by two TELECOM engineering students Nancy Erwan Grégoire and Antoine Bourlier, with the aim of facilitating the practice of cycle tourism. To do this, camping equipment kits are rented directly in partner accommodation located along cycle routes. This allows cyclists and hikers not to carry this equipment and therefore to travel much lighter!
The school went to meet the two students.
The birth of the project
Being cycle touring enthusiasts, Erwan and Antoine realized the difficulties that a cycle tourist could encounter during his journey. They therefore thought of this concept of renting equipment which makes it possible to lighten the itinerants, by removing the heaviest and most cumbersome load from them, while remaining ecological, since it does not involve transport by motorized vehicle. Thanks to their computer studies, they were able to quickly start creating the digital tools necessary for the project. At the same time, partnerships have been set up with campsites located on the Véloscénie, which has made it possible to test the concept from 2021.
The year 2022 marks the first real season for the company, which currently has 16 partner campsites. The company should continue to develop and plans to establish itself on the Loire by bike from 2023.
What do the kits contain?
The kits include a 3 or 4 person tent, mattresses, pillows, disposable and recyclable bedding (pillowcases + mattress pads), a stove, a mallet and a hand pump.
What are the prices ?
The price depends on the number of people. Per night, it will be necessary to count 8 € for the solo formula, 7 € per person for the duo formula and 6 € per person for the group formula . Added to this is the price of the pitch, to be paid directly at the campsite.

Does the VéloLéger concept stop at the rental of camping equipment?
No, in addition to its rental service, VéloLéger accompanies cyclists and hikers throughout their adventure, by providing a lot of information on its website and on its application. It is possible to find advice, ideas for meals, monuments to visit, profiles of the stages… In addition, this information is freely accessible, it is not necessary to create an account to consult it.
