A formidable urban mobility project developed in Nancy
The UrbanLoop project capsule was revealed to the public on July 1st and 2nd on Place Stanislas in Nancy: the design was chosen by Internet users a few months ago. The capsule was then placed in Place Carrière on July 2 so that residents could ask their questions.
UrbanLoop is a concept of intelligent urban mobility, carried by the engineering schools of Lorraine INP including TELECOM Nancy.
An unparalleled field of innovation within the University of Lorraine for around a hundred student-engineers and teacher-researchers. This project aims to design and test a new type of urban transport by capsules moving quickly on a network of rails.
After setting the world record for the lowest energy consumption for an autonomous vehicle on rails in 2021, Urbanloop has set itself 2 objectives:
- 2024 : Presence at the Paris Olympic Games.
- 2026 : Commissioning in the Nancy Metropolis: it will be “interconnected” with the public transport network.
Congratulations for this wonderful project and all the work accomplished!
