T’Event

More than €10,000 raised by the charity event organized by the TELECOM Nancy humanitarian association!

The humanitarian association of TELECOM Nancy organized Friday January 28 and Saturday January 29, 2022 a charity event inspired by Z Event.

The TN’Event is a 26-hour streaming marathon organized by TELECOM Nancy students. All streamers are students, members of staff (teachers, administrative, etc.) or former students of TELECOM Nancy.

What is streaming?

Streaming is a technique for the online and continuous distribution and reading of videos or photos. During these 26 hours of streaming, participants had the opportunity to try their hand at the world of streaming and broadcast what they liked. In particular, they were able to broadcast video games, board games, training, interviews or even free air.

The purpose of this event was to raise funds through streaming for the charity Action Enfance , and to allow them to develop and finance their animal mediation project in the village of Bar-le-Duc.
Action Enfance is a French foundation created in 1958 by Suzanne Masson. One of the main actions of the foundation is the setting up of children’s and teenagers’ villages: children entrusted to the foundation by the French justice are welcomed there to give them a secure and reassuring home. Every year, 800 children and young people are entrusted to the Foundation, which it welcomes in its 14 villages. They are accompanied by specialized educators 24/7.

Feedback

The team responsible for organizing the TN’Event had set a goal of 2,000 euros in donations. This amount was reached only 3 hours after the start of the event, then was greatly exceeded with an estimate of 11,000 euros in donations for Action Enfance thanks to the shop and the raffle, and more than 10,000 euros in pure donations.

This money will be used for an animal mediation project in the children’s and teenagers’ village of Bar-le-Duc, including the employment of a specialized educator, and the living costs of at least one dog and one rabbit. The surplus money will be used in the daily life of children and teenagers in the village.

During the event, the majority of streamers were gathered in the same room. Thanks to this arrangement, a great cohesion was felt within the group of streamers, but also between the members of the organization and the streamers. In addition, usual streams, exceptional activities were organized during the event such as Questions for an Engineer (remake of Questions for a Champion), but also a Just Dance with many streamers.

Saturday morning, January 29, the organizers and the streamers had the chance to meet the Director of the village, Yannick Bernier, the educator trained in animal mediation as well as the dog who will be in contact with the children. At 1 p.m., a great moment provoked everyone’s enthusiasm: the intervention of Samuel Etienne, presenter of Questions pour un Champion and streamer on Twitch. Generally, Samuel Etienne is used to offering visibility to small streamers, and it is the TN’Event stream that he has chosen! With approximately 3,000 new viewers, this offered them unexpected visibility and provoked general emotion.

The entire TN’Event team was surprised by the scale of the event and the amount raised. The organizers are proud to have been able to create such an event with a smooth running. Humani’TN has already announced that the event will be repeated next year!

Kudos to them!!
